What Works Clearinghouse (WWC)
Educators trying to make choices to help students and schools meet high standards can become overwhelmed by the amount of education research. It can also be hard to identify research with credible and reliable evidence to use in making informed decisions.

As an initiative of the U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences (IES), the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) was created in 2002 to be a central and trusted source of scientific evidence for what works in education. What does that mean?

Learning Collaboratively
Education consultant Ben Johnson describes in this blog post his experience introducing a group of ninth-grade students to a collaborative-learning project. The inquiry-based project, in which students were asked to find a solution to a real-world problem, required students first be taught to work in groups, share ideas and function collaboratively. These skills, though not often taught in primary and secondary schools, are expected of students from day one in many colleges and universities

European Network of Educational Councils
Nowadays, education and training are seen as key actors in the development of a knowledge society. Therefore both the EU and the member states put forward daring targets to energise the sectors of education and training making them more performing. In order to give these innovation policies a broad societal support, governments mobilise the educational and social-economic stakeholders such as representatives of school boards, teacher trade unions, parent and student organisations as well as social partners to participate actively in the conception and the implementation of policies and activities in education and training. Therefore most of the member states have set up national or regional formal institutions of consideration and consultation. They have diverse statutes, but they all have to function as an advisory body towards governments on future education policies.

The term also implies the prevention of this kind of disruptive behavior.
